BPSS Virtual Challenges - Reaction/Response
The virtual challenges have 6 achievement levels.
Students must start on achievement level 1 and progress their way through. They can only move to the next achievement level once they have achieved all requirements on that level. Each level is a progression from the previous level and allows students to build upon what they achieved at the previous level.
These challenges are designed to be pupil focused and allow individuals to reach the correct level for them. They can attempt an achievement as many times as they need to in order to progress to the next achievement.
Each set of challenges can be related to various sports, examples are listed on the first page of each challenge. You can incorporate these as part of your sport specific lesson or use the challenges as a stand alone lesson.
Each achievement has a question at the end; this can be used with students as a discussion topic and allows them to develop an understanding of what they have done. This shouldn’t be used to determine challenge achievement.
Recording results
A spreadsheet has been designed in order for you to easily input your class results. In order to do this you enter your student’s names and then enter the achievement levels they have completed. For example, if they completed all 6 achievements you enter a 1 in all of the achievement boxes. If they achieved up to and including achievement 3 then you enter a 1 in achievement boxes 1, 2 and 3. If they achieved achievement level 1 then you enter a 1 in achievement 1 box. The total box at the end will give a total (out of 6) for each student. The total at the bottom of the page will give and overall class total.
