I am very excited about the future for schools in Barnet under this new initiative and eager to make a positive contribution to schools in Barnet by ensuring every school has a deeper understanding of the inclusive competitive environment which is embedded in the BPSS.

My Fundamental aim is to ensure the borough of Barnet has increased participation in competition and sport is accessible to everyone.

Having worked as a PE teacher at Finchley Catholic High School, and being a product of a Barnet School myself, I am aware they have a high pedigree of producing high class performers and this is an aspect of each school’s tradition I will embrace in my role as an S.G.O.

Previously working as a level 2 Football Coach and fitness instructor with Premier Sport and working as a Clinical Physiologist at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, I decided to return to my love of sports development and secured a position at Northamptonshire Sport as Coach Development Manager. This involved delivering Sport Coach UK’s Coaching System Support Network (CSSN) on a county level working with numerous key partners.

I then went on to secure the position of Football Development Officer within Suffolk FA, covering the West of the county. After a year at Suffolk FA I found myself missing the opportunity to deliver a variety of programmes in which I could positively influence children and young people, which I take great satisfaction and sense of fulfilment from. With this in mind and the opportunity to work alongside London 2012 Olympic and Paralympics Games, the position of School Games Organiser (SGO) is one which provides me with enormous excitement.

The opportunity to develop a solid framework for school sports competition for years to come and create a sustainable legacy for children and young people to embrace, is an opportunity of a lifetime and one which I intend to grasp with both hands, making a positive difference to sport in children and young peoples lives.

    Hobbies / Interests:

I am a keen sportsman and enjoy all sports with Football, Snowboarding, Golf and Tennis making up my favoured sports. I have played football for various teams since the age of eight and with relocating to Harrow I am currently looking for a Saturday team – offers welcome. Snowboarding is my other passion and I regularly go to Milton Keynes or Hemel Hempstead to brush up on my freestyle skills before my annual trip to Whistler, which never fails to disappoint.

I am looking forward to the challenge ahead and am looking forward to working with you all in shaping the future of school games competition and providing ALL children and young people with the opportunity to access the highest quality sporting competition.

I am looking forward to working to ensure a sustainable future for school sport in Barnet and helping to build upon the work that the SSPs have done.

I spent a year living and working in the US and previously worked as a FESCo in Hillingdon, I am keen to transfer skills and knowledge developed into the new SGO role.
