BPSS 6 a side Football Competition Rules
Team Requirements:
6 players from each team will be playing at any one time.
Rolling substitutions can be made during any match – ensure you notify the referee.
Squads of 10 players maximum
Team Eligibility:
All competitors must be attending primary school in the appropriate year group.
Girls can play in the boys football competitions.
Tournament Format:
The tournament will comprise of 6-a-side football matches.
Games will be approx 8 minutes with no half time.
Three points are awarded for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 for a loss.
If the scores are level after full time in the knockout stages, the winning team will be decided in the following way: 2 minutes golden goal shall be played If this does not make a winner then penalties will be taken.
Group placing will be determined in the following order: Points accrued, Goal Difference, Number of goals scored, Record between the two teams if level after above. If level after all above, a sudden death penalty shootout will decide
Sports Rules for Tournament Format:
All play to the referee whistle (not the central timed whistle).
There is no off-side rule.All players allowed in the goal area.
Goalkeepers not allowed outside the goal area. If they do 1 warning then penalties awarded.
Throw ins will be taken if the ball goes out of touch.
Goal kicks will be taken from the edge of the penalty area or the back line.
No goal keeper can kick the ball from their hands –If they do 1 warning then penalties awarded. If the goalkeeper puts the ball on floor play begins.
No back passes allowed to be picked up by goalkeeper.
All free kicks are direct, and the opposition must be at least 2.25m away from the ball.
Shin Pads must be worn.
Blades are not permitted.
All other rules of the FA will apply.
