3v3 Basketball

Yesterday Burnt Oak Leisure Centre hosted two large basketball competitions; one for the North Schools and one for the South/West Schools. Over 150 pupils took place over the competitions, showing that they have been practicing at school, with incredible 3 point line shots, followed by powerful displays to passing. Team work was key; and every team showed this with great affect. As the events progressed and teams started to get into their games the atmosphere got louder and louder, with teams cheering on not only their own team but the others schools too.

After the close pool stages the semi-finals were even closer with all players giving every ounce of energy. The brilliant sports leaders from Barnet & Southgate College, kept the games organised and flowing, ensuring the highest quality of competitions. When the leaders had breaks they took this time to support resting teams and do a little bit of coaching.

In the North Summerside came out with gold, with some amazing lay ups, and Goldbeaters claimed gold in the South/West, with an incredible display of team work. Both will now play against each other in the Borough final, to determine who progresses to represent Barnet at the School Games.

Congratulations to everyone involved for creating such an electric atmosphere and a thoroughly enjoyable day of basketball.

South/West Final Standings:
