Barnet School Sport Awards 2013

The best sporting talent from Barnet schools attended the 2013 Barnet School Sport Awards evening on Thursday 19th September at Saracens home ground AllianzPark. Organised by the Barnet Partnership for School Sport (BPSS) Team and supported by Pro-Active North London, school pupils were invited to attend this prestigious event, to celebrate the sporting achievements of 2013.  Highlighting the past academic year’s sporting highlights, the evening had guest appearances from Saracens and England Rugby Player David Strettle and Olympic and World Athletics Team GB 4x400m quartet member Conrad Williams. The evening, hosted by Layla Hall (Strategic Manager for the BPSS) and official Torch Bearer Kim Henderson saw the cream of the BarnetSchool’s Sporting Talent.

VIPs of the evening included, the Deputy Mayor Cllr Bridget Perry and Mathew Kendall, The London Borough of Barnet’s Assistant Director for Adults and Communities. Guests were also treated to performances from Woodcroft’s Winning Rock Challenge Dance Club and a new dance craze Jhoom vs Salsa-Fit Box.

Teacher / Coach of the Year – Robbie Courtnage (DollisJuniorSchool)

Primary Team of the Year – DollisJuniorSchool’s, Football Team

Secondary Team of the Year – LondonAcademy’s Table Tennis Team

Young Performer of the Year – Nathanael Thomas (AshmoleAcademy)

Young Volunteer of the Year –  Hayley McNamara (HendonSchool)

Primary School Games Award – FouldsSchool

Primary Participation Award – GoldbeatersSchool

Secondary School Games Award – St Michael’s CatholicGrammar School

Secondary Participation Award – St James’ CatholicHigh School

Partner of the Year – The Saracens Foundation

Outstanding Contribution to School Sport – Sue Livock (Queen Elizabeth’s Girls’ School)
