Coronavirus - Covid 19

BPSS want to reassure school that we are following NHS and government advice and guidance regarding the Coronavirus. Currently all our scheduled events will continue to take place. If there are any changes we will inform you.

Any schools that are due to attend the up and coming London Youth Games events please see statement from them below:

Statement from London Youth Games CEO, Andy Dalby-Welsh:

Dear All

At London Youth Games, the health and safety of our young people, volunteers, Team Managers, Borough Team Organisers, School Games Organisers, our team and all those involved in the Games is our first priority. We are very aware of the growing concerns around Coronavirus, and the importance of working together to reduce risk. Rest assured we are staying close to all public health advice.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:Please follow the guidelines and encourage those you are teaching, training, coaching and coordinating to also follow the guidance of Public Health England (PHE) here with regards to prevention, symptoms and follow up actions if confirmed to have the virus.

Obviously, if you have travelled back from parts of mainland China, Iran, Northern Italy or South Korea in the last 14 days, you have been advised to self-isolate for 14 days, so please do not attend our events during this time.

If you or those you are working/training with are currently feeling unwell with any symptoms such as a high temperature, a cough or shortness of breath please also do not attend our events.

The usual common sense advice remains the same at our events as everywhere; regular hand washing with hot water and soap for at least 20 seconds and avoiding touching your mouth, nose and eyes with unwashed hands.WHAT WE ARE DOING:We will liaise with our venues to provide extra sanitizer and anti-bacterial wipes throughout the venues, where possible. Please use these on entering and registering and as needed throughout your time at our events. Our team and Competition Managers will be briefed to remind attendees about this, and to also follow the guidelines themselves.

We are prepared and focused on keeping our events safe and open to competitors, and our team is actively monitoring and co-ordinating efforts, to make sure all appropriate measures are in place. If the situation changes or we have any important updates we will continue to communicate in an open and honest way.
