We hope your students enjoyed participating in Boccia last week, through the virtual challenges, personal best challenges and leadership packs. Thank you to all those schools that took part and congratulations to the following winning schools;

A full breakdown of results will be sent tomorrow. A reminder that the deadline to submit your results for Football is Friday 5pm. Next week we turn our attention to LYG’s Cross Country and BPSS KS1 Cheerleading Festival. Please note neither will count towards the Virtual Schools League.

Secondary Schools have the opportunity to take part in the Game of Our Own (GOOO) Project

 

Secondary Teacher Training Project

This project will enable you in collaboration with your Barnet PE colleagues to develop PE in a way that best suits your students to increase motivation and participation. What you do is up to you but most of the spend should be about professional development and dialogue with no more than 10% on capital costs. If you or your line manager / SLT need to know a little bit more than please see the Sport England website.

Zoom Catch-Ups

Sports Hall Ventilation - for those interested, England Netball have recommended sports centres purchase CO2 monitors to assist with keeping track of air ventilation.

 

744 Hour Strava Challenge

Team Barnet had a super busy week, recording just over three days worth of physical activity across the week.

In total our 65 members recorded 72 hours and 55 minutes of physical activity across the week, from 99 logged activities. 37hrs & 17mins were covered by bike, 33hrs & 3mins on foot and 2hrs 35mins swum.

New Coaching Children online course

Sports Coach UK have a launched Coaching Children Course in their online classroom at a cost of £30 per coach. The course incorporates the latest research on essential topics that are intrinsic in the coaching of children between the ages of 5 and 12. Coaches will come away with innovative techniques and cutting-edge information to become a more effective coach

 

Schools still able to enter Mini London marathon

The first ever virtual Virgin Money Giving Mini London sees children complete 2.6 miles before Friday 23 October. There are free resources available, including downloadable running number and certificates.
