Secondary Weekly Update - 05.02.21

Barnet Twin Towns Challenge

Since departing Montclair we have made good progress in our journey to Jinja, our second twin town destination. So far we have travelled 2,890 miles of this 7,105 mile section. In terms of our current location we are in the Atlantic Ocean, some 570 miles from dry land and the continent of Africa. Once on dry land we will continue travelling east towards Jinja, Uganda.

A big thank you to Whitefield and the Barnet Strava Club for their contributions this week. With this being the longest section of the challenge we are calling on all Barnet schools to get involved. There are various resources available to download from our website to help promote the challenge across your school community, please click here to find out more.

It contains useful links of ways in which parents/guardians can motivate their children to stay active and healthy throughout lockdown. We continually update this information each week with the latest resources released, which are marked ‘New’.

Wellbeing at Home

We are all aware of the challenges to children’s physical health and wellbeing while being home schooled. It is important that we help prevent the physical, social and emotional deficit they will face when they return to school.

The Well Schools community has some great examples of how schools are managing emotions, staying connected and being active. Check it out by clicking here.
