Secondary Weekly Update - 12.02.21

Barnet Twin Towns Challenge

We have now successfully reached our second destination, Jinja (Uganda), having travelled 7,105 miles from Montclair (USA). Since last week’s update we said goodbye to the Atlantic Ocean for the last time, having spent the vast majority of this challenge so far at sea. Following our arrival into Western Africa, we had a busy couple of days travelling east through Mauritania, Mail, Burkina Faso, Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon, Central African Republic and DR Congo, before eventually arriving in Jinja.

Our next destination is Ramat Gan (Israel), a journey which will require us to travel 2,190 miles through four more countries.

A big thank you to St Andrew the Apostle and the Barnet Strava Club for their contributions this week. In recognition for your pupil’s efforts so far, we have designed printable A5 certificates which can be found in the resources section here.

Resources for Parents/Guardians

We are continuing to collate a PDF spreadsheet, attached, for schools to circulate to their school community. It contains useful links of ways in which parents/guardians can motivate their children to stay active and healthy throughout lockdown. We continually update this information each week with the latest resources released, which are marked ‘New’.
