The girls event will run alongside the mixed competition.

Main Details:

• Yr9&10 Pupils only
• Team size: 7 players minimum, 10 maximum.
• Mouthguards: Required at NFL-run regional tournaments but not mandatory at the local level (but still welcome to use them).
• 1 team will qualify for the regionals.
• A, B & C teams are applicable at the local levels but only the winning team will qualify through.
• Winners from each format will qualify for the regional stage—the London Regionals. This will take place May 2026

Gameplay Guidelines:

• Aim for an equal split of male and female players.
• Minimum of 2 players of the opposite sex to the other 8 players on the team.
• 5-a-side format.
• Minimum of 1 player of the opposite sex to the other 4 players on the field at all times.

Spectators: Unfortunately, due to this event being on a school site, spectators will not be allowed

Staff: Will be responsible for following the BPSS Code of Conduct and carrying out first aid to their pupils

• Squad sizes are between 7-10 players. 
• For Primary Mixed and 13U Mixed, we hope for squads to aspire to an equal mix of male and female players but a minimum of 2 players of the opposite sex are required (e.g. 2 male and 8 female or 8 male and 2 female).
• At least 1 player of the opposite sex must always be on the field (e.g. 1 female and 4 males or 1 male and 4 females). 
• You should bring your own flag belts and footballs. 
• Gumshields are mandatory at our regional event, and we would encourage use of gumshields at local events. 
• The play clock has now been aligned with IFAF (International Federation for American Football), reducing from 30 Seconds to 25 Seconds.
