Breathtaking Basketball

This week has seen two large basketball competitions take place; one for the North Schools and one for the South/West Schools. Over 150 pupils took place over the two days, showing that they have been practicing at school, with incredible 3 point line shots, followed by powerful displays to passing. Team work was key; and every team showed this with great affect. As the afternoons progressed the atmosphere got louder and louder, as all the players grew in confidence and cheered on not only their own team but the others on court.

After the close pool stages the semi-finals were even closer with all players giving every ounce of energy. The brilliant sports leaders from Barnet & Southgate College and Hendon School, kept the games organised and flowing, ensuring the highest quality of competitions.

In the North Martin came out with gold, with some amazing lay ups, and Goldbeaters claimed gold in the South/West, with an incredible display of team work. Both will now play against each other in the Borough final, to determine who progresses to represent Barnet at the School Games.

Congratulations to everyone involved for creating such an electric atmosphere and two thoroughly enjoyable afternoons of basketball.
