#StayInWorkOut Weekly Update - Issue 1

#StayInWorkOut Weekly Update - Issue 1

What a rollercoaster of a week, from closing our school gates to most of our pupils for the foreseeable future, tuning into watch Boris Johnson enforce a national lockdown, to showing our appreciation for our wonderful NHS workers.

I plan to send a weekly email to highlight key messages from the week gone and what you can expect from BPSS in the week ahead. If there is anything I can help you or your school with, please do not hesitate to reach out. Likewise, if you do not wish to receive these emails please let me know. I won't be offended, promise.

This week the main focus was on launching the BPSS #StayInWorkOut personal challenge. The concept is simple, with a weekly challenge set every Tuesday, encouraging students, staff, parents and carers to participate. Practice the challenge as many times as you like across the week, before uploading a video of you doing the challenge and achieving your personal best score. Don't worry, you don't have to post a video if you don't want to, simply post a photograph, comment or anything you feel comfortable with. We have tried to make the challenges as simple as possible, using limited equipment so it’s accessible for all.

A sneak peek ahead to next Tuesday's challenge, this will feature a throwing challenge courtesy of an International Ultimate Frisbee player that works in one of our schools. If you would like to be the face of a future challenge, please let me know and we would love to have you feature.

I appreciate you have probably been inundated on emails and through social media of the latest resources available from a variety of organisaions and NGBs. We are in the process of sorting through all the resources available to hand select what we feel are the most appropriate and helpful. More news to follow once this function is available on our website.

The schedule across our social media platforms will form the following structure next week;

Motivation Mondays

- Start the week as you mean to go on by completing the popular Joe Wicks 30min workout on YouTube (available every midweek from 9am).

- Throughout the day we will be posting motivational posts to help you and your school community through the week ahead.

Try Your Best Tuesdays

- The weekly BPSS #StayInWorkOut personal best challenge will be set, continuing to promote this across the week.

Wellness Wednesdays

- Focus will be on wellness, always important but more so during the current situation.

Throwback Thursdays

- Highlights from events which took place in the Autumn and Spring terms.

Fun Fridays

- Cross curricular activities incorporating an element of physical activity.

- What happened next video clips from the sporting world, emoji challenges, spot the ball, etc

It would be most appreciated if you could promote our social media platforms to your school community, links to these can be found below underneath my email signature.
