Secondary Welcome Back Update - 08.01.21

Welcome back to another term and the start of a new calendar year. We hope you had a restful and enjoyable break over the festive period, however you chose to spend it.

Barnet Twin Towns Challenge

Join us on an exciting voyage to visit Barnet’s 8 twin towns. Whether it’s cycling with the kids, clocking up your 10,000 daily steps or simply waking together as a family, we want everyone to join us in helping cover the 25,000 kilometre journey.

Resources for Parents/Guardians

We have collated a PDF spreadsheet, attached, for schools to circulate to their school community. It contains useful links of ways in which parents/guardians can motivate their children to stay active throughout lockdown. We will continually update each week with the latest resources released.

 

Barnet Dance Festival – Further Information

Thank you again to all those schools that expressed their interest in being part of the 2021 Barnet Dance Festival. In light of the latest Government announcement we hope to be in a position to update all interested schools next week regarding the status of this event.

 

This Girl Can – Campaign Postponed

Unfortunately we have had to postpone our This Girl Can campaign which we were planning to roll out across Barnet secondary schools this term. We hope to launch the campaign in the summer term, which will aim to increase physical activity and develop leadership skills amongst female students.

 

FA Girls’ Football Partnership

Thank you to all the following schools that signed up to take part in this exciting new project which is set to launch in Barnet this term; Archer, Ashmole, Copthall, QEGS, Saracens High, St James’, Whitefield & Wren.

 

London Basketball Association - Free Courses

The LBA are offering free courses to every school in London. The courses available are Referee Level 1, Table Official Level 1 & Media Crew. Those looking to get certified, must be over the age of 14 years old. There will be a cap on the first 100 schools that sign up.
